To continue reducing its heating energy consumption, between March and November 2024 Aluminium Dunkerque will install an internal heat loop using its waste heat emissions. The heat will be captured from the air compressor cooling circuit and will be used to raise the temperature level to heat the central areas, the warehouse and for domestic hot water.
While the Tertiary Decree requires companies to make 40% energy savings in administrative areas by 2030, this project, at a total estimated cost of 3 million euros, will allow Aluminium Dunkerque to reach 60% with 2,500 MWh/year.
