Major modernisation work was carried out in the foundry over 4 weeks while operations carried on in complete safety.
It was essential to modernise the No.2 Vertical Continuous Casting machine (slab lowering system) kinematics to be able to meet our customers’ requirements and improve our product quality.
These shutdowns, which are hard on our operational teams, are essential if we are to maintain our position as European leader in primary aluminium production and offer increasingly technical products.
The facilities were restarted in very good conditions.
It was thanks to everyone’s commitment that this technical feat was achieved on time and in complete safety.
