Yesterday, an extraordinary meeting of the Central Works Committee (CCE) was held during which SECAFI presented its expert report on the industrial and social parts of the project to transform the Dunkirk site organisation.
The report was split into 3 parts: economic, organisational and social.
The presentation was the opportunity for a number of discussions and clarifications between senior management and members of the Works Committee.
During the discussions, senior management made it clear that it was important for everyone involved to be able to work together to ensure the success of the Aluminium Dunkirk transformation project and to meet the ambition of making it the most competitive site in Europe.
Senior management reiterated its proposal to set up discussion and reflection workshops as of now, so that all employees can work together to ensure that the projects are carried out properly.
Regarding the voluntary departure plan, the first of the three negotiation meetings provided for in the methods agreement signed between senior management and all the trade unions will take place on July 2. The purpose of these negotiations is to reach a majority agreement that would allow to improve the measures presented.
Senior management is confident in the quality of the industrial relations dialogue and the responsibility of the trade unions, and in the commitment of everyone to meeting our challenges. The site’s operational stability is a key success factor in bringing this project to fruition and creating favourable conditions for achieving its objectives.
Next steps:
- The Works Committee meeting will take place on 1 July.
- The 3 negotiation meetings on the social part will take place on 2 and 16 July and 28 August.
- The meeting to present the CHSCT (Hygiene, Safety and Working Conditions Committee) expertise report, drafted by EMERGENCE, will take place on 4 July.
- The meeting to receive the opinion of the Works committee will take place once the Dunkirk CHSCT has given its opinion, by 2 September at the latest.
