The Aluminium Dunkerque works committee met on Monday 12 May 2014 following the Aluminium Pechiney works committee meeting of 6 May on the opening of the industrial section. Discussions focused on the economic justification for the project (see AP News Flash) and the list of transformation projects being considered.
The objectives of the various projects to be conducted as part of the project to transform Aluminium Dunkerque’s organisation are as follows:
- Review of all skill use and management processes focusing on the core business and optimising all operations.
- Rethinking of the organisation of work sector by sector to improve responsiveness, quality and costs without compromising working conditions and safety.
To meet these objectives, 32 specific projects and 2 transverse projects have been defined in all sectors of the plant:
- The specific projects are presented at the back of this News Flash
- The transverse projects cover personnel management rules, presenteeism and the staggering of leave and time off.
Remember that the projects under consideration will have an impact on the workforce of up to 65 jobs, and that Senior Management has decided to carry out this transformation exclusively through a voluntary departure plan with no compulsory redundancies.
Furthermore, analysis work has been carried out to assess the impact of the transformation project on workload and workplace hardship, as well as on the safety, psycho-social and health risks for the teams potentially affected. These analyses will be shared with the CHSCT for opinion.
Meetings with the teams will be held to discuss the various projects with you and answer any questions you may have.
