A works committee meeting was held at Aluminium Dunkerque on Wednesday, 7 May 2014, following the Aluminium Pechiney central works committee meeting of 6 May on the opening of the industrial part.
The presentation focused on the economic aspects of the project (see AP News Flash) and the list of planned transformation projects.
At the end of the morning, as it had not been possible to discuss the entire presentation, staff representatives and senior management agreed to suspend the meeting for today and to resume on Monday 12 May at 8:30am.
As a result of this suspension, we are unable to provide you with all the information from this works committee meeting, in particular the list of transformation projects. Full information will be provided to the teams after this second part of the meeting, and we will be able to answer any questions.
Remember that this transformation project puts the future of the plant on the line and will make it possible for us to maintain the site’s competitiveness. In that context, maintaining the level of satisfaction of our current customers and finding new markets to complete our 2015 order book is essential, because no business is viable without customers.
To succeed, we need strong cohesion in the company to demonstrate to our customers our ability to deliver quality products and services that meet their expectations. We are at a decisive moment and strikes create operational instability which has a negative impact on our customers and our performance.
We are continuing to hold meetings with staff representatives in accordance with the signed methods agreement, to keep you regularly informed, and assure you that we are doing everything we can to support you through this period.
